Russell clarifies concerns about Australia crash

George Russell expressed his concern after his crash at the Australian Grand Prix left him stranded in the middle of the track. The Mercedes driver collided while trying to avoid Fernando Alonso, who was later penalized for his driving behavior. Russell’s car spun and ended up on its side in a dangerous position on the track. Race control initially used double yellow flags before implementing a virtual safety car, but Russell urgently called for the race to be red-flagged due to the perilous situation. Despite the incident, Russell assured reporters that he was okay but emphasized the danger of being stuck in the middle of a high-speed corner with oncoming traffic. He highlighted the importance of quick safety measures in such situations to prevent further accidents.
